Monday so far has been ice, snow, and slush.
This weekend was lovely. We went to Medevial Times with our friends and their children and everyone had a blast! Our knight lost (wimp) but nothing beats watching Paige scream "go blue night" at the top of her lungs, just so psyched and happy. The last time we had went Wyatt was just a teeny baby and so it was also fun for this momma to see her knight-loving guy get all big eyed when he saw the "king" when we walked in. He turned to me and said "momma I'm so happy!" and than my heart broke into a tiny pieces because how cute is that? Note: he wasn't to happy when the dark knight came out and dramatic music started...but that passed and happiness ensued!
Horrible picture (red eyes and all) and notice Paige's face? Red red red. She has chapped lips and despite my pleading with her to stop rubbing her face, has continued to do so. It's chapped and raw and painful and I smear cocount oil on it whenever I get the chance but not without a fight. My chapped lips are meeting a similar fate though, so coconut oil for everyone!
This week is going to be quiet.
Today: Macaroni and cheese with gruyere and bacon, wintery art projects, stories on the couch
Tuesday: momma writing time, shape study (for Wyatt, using popsicle sticks Paige will help me water-color tonight..), ballet class, working on a blessings book filled with more verses for mealtimes, waking and bedtimes (so pretty!) and for dinner: lamb stew with wild rice
Weds: beat those' winter blues playdate! We will be making aromatherapy spray to spritz in the air on those chilly winter nights made with all sorts of warming herbs...and I think we will also make a lil' chai/cinnamon balm too because why not! Kids will help and run around playing while we mommas get to work. On days where we are crafting and playing I tend not to do as much in the afternoon - when everyone leaves we have a snack and quite time (movie or something) while I unwind from having guests and the kids do too. We may do a simple Valentines day craft after and an easy peasy dinner (minestrone soup I'm thinkin')
Thurs: momma writing time, nature walk (looking to be much more mild, windy but mild) to collect some materials for winter dioramas, taco night!
Friday: ADVENTURE DAY. Where shall we go?! There's a local museum that I went to as a kid that's not anything fancy, but they do have a model train show and I think Wyatt (and Paige too) would love to see it. I'm thinking museum + lunch date with Paige and Wyatt for our adventure day sounds lovely. The museum is perfect because it's a short drive, it's not too huge and overwhelming, and it's fairly quiet so they can take their time and really enjoy each exhibit.
I've been falling asleep with the kids at 8pm nightly. Why must I have such a cozy bed?! When I crawl in to snuggle Wyatt to sleep the dogs and cats join me and it's just such a cuddly time I don't wanna leave, and than I wake up wondering what happened cursing myself for missing out on mommy-time to read or go snuggle the husband. It also means a million emails and blogs to catch up on. Grrrr. Damn you bed!
