I never shut up about rhythm, but in my defense it's something of an obsession
Iv'e never really understood how the weekly rhythm works, I know some do baking Monday and Watercolors Thursday and I totally get it, but what happpens if you want to bake on Thursday and paint on Tuesday and Monday you're tired and just want to bum around? When it comes to weekly rhythms I get spooked. Just like I get spooked by meal planning or actually you know, cooking huge meals. In theory it seems so lovely but sometimes a girl just wants to order Thai food ..twice in a row?
But yes, a weekly rhythm. I want it! I need it! SInce I've been doing the full-time-no-help mom thing for the past few months rhythm has become so very important to me because in that rhythm this momma gets downtime, and the kids play, and we are all mostly happy. I'd like to share with you gals *and guys* what I've come up with and get your thoughts and YOUR rhythms.
Monday - market day
By the start of a new week we are dealing with the need for new grocceries, and things to make dinners (or not) for the week. We are going to be living within a very decent driving distance to my favorite market ever WEGMANS and I'm looking forward to this.
Tuesday - Creative day
This will be a day we do a drop in art class (may sign up for a weekly class, or see what the Magic Acorn is doing in terms of classes, or something..)
Weds - Waldorf play group!
I am actually going to be starting this come November with my Natural Parents group (I haven't mentioned it yet..) I'd like this to be a weekly thing where we do circle time, bake, do some handiwork, and the mommas can talk rhythm and verses and whatever else. It'll be a nice way to break up our week, and will be very cozy once winter comes. Weds is also the evening I visit my brother, so I'd like to stay home since I go out in the evening.
Thurs - Adventure Day!
We will adventure somewhere..museums, day trips, etc. We will leave early in the morning and come home late afternoon. And of course sometimes our adventures can just be little hikes in the woods nearby depending on moods, energy levels, and the likes.
Friday - well I have no idea? Wild card day? I'd like some days to just be left up in the open so that we don't feel too forced into anything. I love the idea of rhythm but have an unschooling heart perhaps. So Fri-Sat we will go with the flow - friends, parties, reading books in the nook?' Fine with me!
I can't wait to move and get settled.
